Driven by his diverse interests and passions, Bob Yoon founded Compass Improvements & Services in 2018 as a means of combining his business transformation successes with his creativity and his academic inclination. Bob began his interest in Operational Excellence in 2010 by becoming a Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. Even after becoming Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt in 2012, his insatiable curiosity and his desire to share his passion ensures that his journey of discovery and learning plus his willingness for others to learn along side himself will never end.

Throughout his career, Bob Yoon has led business transformations that have saved companies millions of dollars in order to allow for future growth and reinvestment into capital and human development. Various implementations of his ideas have become the basis of Enterprise-wide best practices.  His many successful projects span disparate industries such as manufacturing, supply chain management, food, event planning and production, logistics, 3D printing, nonprofits, restaurant and service.

Bob strives to bring his ethnographic and fieldwork experience from in anthropological studies from Brandeis University (BA Anthropology 1998) as inspiration for a culture-first/human centered approach to business transformation. Also as a Conservatory-trained musician (Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University – Performer’s Certificate 2003; University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign –  Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting 2006), he strives to bring his creativity to all his work. These disparate skills and experience are driven by his desire for the betterment of one company at a time.
